BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) — RN, LPN, and RPN registration accepted. BC Care Aide Registry for HCAs.

AB Registration

True North Care places allied health professionals in temporary, contract, and permanent roles at hospitals and clinics across BC and Alberta. Most staffing agencies do not have allied health capacity. We do actively recruit across all allied health disciplines. If your designation is not listed above, contact us. If you are registered with a Canadian provincial regulatory body and have relevant facility experience, we want to hear from you.

Physiotherapists (PT)

CPTBC (BC) or CPTA (AB) registration. CPR, VSC, two references.

Occupational Therapists (OT)

COTBC (BC) or ACOT (AB) registration. CPR, VSC, two references.

Respiratory Therapists (RT)

CPTBC (BC) or CPTA (AB) registration. CPR, VSC, two references.

Medical Lab Technologists (MLT)

CPTBC (BC) or CPTA (AB) registration. CPR, VSC, two references.

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP)

Provincial college registration. VSC, two references.

Pharmacy Technicians

PEBC certified and registered with provincial College of Pharmacists. VSC.

Medical Office Assistants (MOA)

Diploma or certificate. EMR experience. VSC.

Positions

UK Trained General Practitioners — Locum and Permanent Positions in Canada

Canada's rural and remote communities have a serious shortage of General Practitioners. If you are a UK trained GP looking for locum work or a permanent position in Canada, True North Care places physicians at hospitals, community health centres, and medical clinics across British Columbia and Alberta — including remote communities where the need and the opportunity are greatest. We manage the process from application to first day on site: credential verification, provincial licensing support, work authorisation guidance, and placement logistics. You focus on the medicine. We handle everything else.

Permanent positions

Full recruitment and placement for permanent GP roles. We work with you through the full process to confirmed start date.

Work authorisation

We can connect you with registered immigration support to confirm your work authorisation pathway before any placement begins.

Provincial licensing

We support your provisional licence application with CPSBC (BC) or CPSA (AB). Processing takes 10 to 14 weeks — we begin the application as soon as you join our roster.

Locum placements

Temporary locum contracts — short-term and extended. Competitive hourly rates. Information on local accommodation options available on request. Shift flexibility negotiated around your availability.

Eligibility

GMC registration in good standing. MRCGP or equivalent. Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience. References from two supervising physicians.
